See ENT: You should go to see ear nose and throat doctor as soon as possible. That  mass should be evaluated and biopsy should be done to rule out cancer. Also, certain imaging study i.e. Ct scan likely need to be done as well. Don't delay anymore , go to see ENT

i see a tonsil stone at back of throat but it's covered by clear membrane. so, won't come out. having quarterly periodontal cleaning this week. do periodontists know about this to remove it? or, maybe an ent? no pain, blood or smell?

: ENT doctor would be better for addressing issues with tonsils. If there are not symptoms you may watch and wait and the stone may come out on its own.

Have it checked: Ideally by your physician who knows  your baseline. Given chronic aspect of your problems you should be established with ENT by now. Based on description you might need a culture at a minimum.

Might not be a stone: Haven't seen that. Probably some people have big tonsils, and there are bacteria and inflammatory responses by one's own white blood cells in the holes (crypts) on the tonsils' surfaces... thus leading to lumps of stuff we know as tonsil stones. An ENT doctor can help, but if medical treatment doesn't make things well enough, the next option may be removing tonsils.

You might: have gastroesophageal reflux with throat irritation.  Get to an ENT surgeon.  He can pass an endoscope and give you an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

Remove them: Get a penlight and a mirror and half-unbend a paper clip. You&#x27;ll get good at it. This works wherever the little smelly things have gotten lodged. You probably won&#x27;t hurt yourself. A water pick is even better. If it&#x27;s truly a nuisance, a otolaryngologist can laser-resurface your tonsils.
