Depends . . .: Sorry to hear about your dad's situation. No such thing as "best" for everyone. Answer depends upon many variables. Distance/travel for instance. MD Anderson has a great reputation and is "in-state". But many other facilities outside TX too. How about finances? They might not accept your dad's insurance. If not, does your family have resources to pay their fees? Check w/insurer 1st then familydoc

Not necessarily: You most likely bit the inside of your check. If the lesion has not resolved on its own in about two weeks, let your dentist take a look and advise you.

Yes. H&N: Staging is easy to get to iv, and still be cured. Tongue: oral or base? Nodes: bilat, one side?  Need chemo and rt doc that like to work together on these cases. Support team for dental, dietary. Don't give up, find people that want to help.

Mass or ulcer: A woody thickening in the tongue, a bump, a crater especially a painless one, or a part of the tongue surface simply turning especially red or especially white for a time. Especially if this is where you keep the end of your smoking apparatus or your chewing tobacco, get it checked -- physicians often do not examine all of the tongue routinely.

can biting your tongue lead to tongue cancer?

Highly unlikely: Chronic irritation can lead to cancerous transformation in the oral cavity - it is very unlikely. But biting your tongue should not lead to cancer.
