They can be related.: Kidney stones can occur when there is an imbalance of electrolytes and water in the urine. Not drinking enough water is the most common cause of kidney stones.  Burning tongue can also be exacerbated dehydration.   Try drinking 13 cups of water a day and see if your symptoms decrease.  That is roughly 3 liters of water a day.

However you probably are also experiencing recurrent canker sores. which can be caused by stress &amp; certain foods. Keep a daily diary of what you eat and see if you can identify triggers of these lesions Take multivitamins with iron. Rinsing your tongue with maalox can help. sooth mouth soren

Bumps on tongue: hello  ~ these painful bumps on the tongue occur very  frequently in all of us and they are usually due to reactivation of a virus we get as kids and is usually herpes 1 or coxsackie virus. Best treatment is triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% dental paste applied 3 -4 x a day. You will need a prescription for this. thanks

Let it heal: Not much to be done but let it heal. Sucking ice may soothe the pain some, and taking an analgesic (pain medication like advil (ibuprofen) or tylenol)  may make you more comfortable, but time will be the only real solution. And avoid drinking boiling water! :-).

Neutralize the Acid: Rinse with water, or milk of magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide) or chew a Tums and rinse with water shold neutralize the citric acid or Ascorbic Acid in the Sourpatch kid.  I'm not quite sure what  component the milk duds had in the reaction.

Notably, your histories of anemia, hysterectomy nor burning mouth syndrome would be directly related to tongue discoloration.
