i started working my first job 2 months ago which required me to stand for 8-9 hours a day, which i wasnt used to. after first week, inner sides of both of my big toes became numb. i can feel pain and pressure but it feels like theres tape on them?

Answer: Your shoes are too small.  They might not feel small when you first put them on, but your feet swell throughout the day.  You need to get appropriately fitted shoes for your feet.

Nerve compression: Your shoes may be too tight and causing pressure on the nerve or you may have a neuroma which would cause the same symptoms.

Raynaud’s phenomenon: Cold narrows blood vessels and makes you feel that way.

Pressure: I think your numbness is from shoe pressure. If the numbness is on the outside of your toe (medial side) then your shoe is pressing on the nerve that travels over the medial side of the base of the large toe (hallux).  That is the same area that a bunion would develop. Try a different pair of shoes or sometimes a softer pair of socks can help relieve the pressure.  Try a wider pair of shoes.

Probably not: Most likely this is due to pressure from a shoe, or other minor injury.  But if you notice any weakness in your feet or legs, difficulty walking on your heels or toes, pain in your low back or down your leg, or worsening numbness/pain/redness, get in and see your doctor right away.  Otherwise, give it a few days of rest and loose shoes and see if it improves.

what would cause cold toes? i can wear two pairs of socks & a pair of fluffy socks & my toes will still be cool to the touch 2 hours later. no color change ever but they do get easily numb. my feet stay a normal temperature, its just the toes?

: Your body is shunting blood flow away from the periphery &amp; into the interior of your body presumably from some exposure to cooler environment.  At your age I you don't have blockages in your leg arteries. I assume you have a history of cold intolerance. Your finger tips &amp; tip of your nose may also feel cold at these times.  Beta blocker meds can have this side effect.? see vascular specialist

the pads of my big toes are numb because i am on my feet at work for 7 hours a day. i also have painful knees. after 7 weeks its no better. advice? tx

Toes: If numb toes only intermittently would not worry. If constant nerve conduction study might show neuropathy for which we don't have much treatment for numbness. The knees need to be evaluated if continues to interfere with ur life which would include physical eval and possible X-ray

Many possible causes: The list of possible causes for these symptoms is quite large.  It may be seen early in infections, as a reaction to foods, and even hyperventilation.  It cannot be diagnosed via internet.

Nerve damage: Sounds like you possibly irritated or damaged one or some of the nerves of the foot.  It may take a little time for the sensation to return.  If the problem continues, i would recommend being evaluated by either a podiatrist or neurologist.  They could order a study to examine the nerves in the foot.
