Toddlers: Toddlers only know to do things that feel good.  It is vital that no one makes a big deal of this. It is perfectly common and fine.  If it is embarrassing perhaps laughing and distracting them is a way out of the situation.

Blisters on foot: Check to see if he has blisters on his tongue and hands snd feet to rule out hand foot snd mouth disease caused by a viral illness. The blisters may also be due to a fungus or from friction of tight shoes

my toddler has 3 fire ant bites on his foot. 2 are swollen. is this normal?

Allergic reaction: Very common in response to ant bites. The question is- if this swelling is due to allergic reaction or infection/ cellulitis. This can only be judged through actual visualization of the swelling by md.

i read online there are lots of side effect for lamisil. is there any safe alternative cream to treat infant/toddler's athlete foot?

Safe ???: Lamisil is safe and effective when used appropriately &amp; was deemed so by the food &amp; drug administration back when it was only available by prescription. After years of use, its track record allowed it to be released to the general public. Any med that is strong enough to help will have side effects in some people. I find it a safe med. Lotramin is another antifungal that is usually effective.

i removed a bee stinger with a tweezers from my toddler's foot.   foot fine 1st day, swollen and itchy 2nd day.  worried part of stinger still in foot?

Not likely: Bee stings tend to get worse for 48 hours then begin resolving over subsequent week.  Removal of stinger is good and unlikely that any could be retained.

Yes: There are 2-3 strains of viruses that have been associated with this pattern of rash. Each separate strain would give long lasting immunity, so the same strain would not be repeated. There is also some variation in the pattern that overlaps with other causes. I've seen chickenpox masquerade is HFM.

2 year old toddler has an appointment with dermatologist for a small dark brown mole on the sole of her right foot. it appeared a couple months ago. worried that it could be serious?

: It is most likely benign and an area of hyperpigmentation. Watch for signs of swelling, redness and more than one lesion. Please follow up with your Pediatrician. Sun safety includes sunscreen and a hat. Avoid sunburn since this may increase the risk for skin cancer later in life.

Nothing: It usually takes 3 to 6 days for a person to get symptoms of hand-foot-and-mouth disease after being exposed to the virus. If you got infected,  there is normally no risk to the unborn baby, as complications are extremely rare.

There is no: Good reason a toddler should have itchy, hard skin on a foot.  It may be a fungus or even warts.  So yes, it's best to get him or her looked at.  I'd start with your pediatrician.  Hope this helps!
