i could have todd's paresis. does anyone know anything about this?

Temporary weakness: Tp is focal (not generalized) weakness, often on one side or the other (although may affect speech or vision), following a seizure. It can mimic a stroke but it's temporary and usually very brief. The cause is not known but thought to be depletion of receptors/transmitters. It requires no treatment and gets better on its own.

my 22 month old doesnt talk like other todds his age. he only says mama and papa. should i be worry?

Depends...: Delayed talking can be normal....birth order can affect...especially if siblings are chatty and translating....hearing screen is a good place to start....see your M.D. for a referral.If the speech is a true issue..then your doc can stuff with early interventions.

what time will the antibiotic will effect. co-amox 400mg 3ml 2x/day for a todd 20mons who's wbc 19.7?

Elevated WBC: Why are they on the antibiotic ? A urinary issue or lung issue?usually within 24-48 hours of antibiotics you see a dramatic effect, if not you have to reassess.  A WBC of 19 is high, if it is still that  high go to ER and make sure it is not kidney infection or pneumonia a one year old is fragile..

todd 1st febrile symptoms 9mos bcoz of high fever cause pneumonia 2nd fs 14mos pneumonia again. is that possible he have epilepsy?

Unlikely: If he had one seizure each time he was ill and has been well and seizure free between illnesses he likely does not have epilepsy but rather febrile seizures.  Characteristics include short duration of seizure associated with fever(less than 15 minutes), short period of post seizure confusion, Normal development, growth and overall health, no non febrile seizures.

my sister is 14 and have been having a cycle since she was 11 but today she told me sometimes she wouldn't have one for months at a time! is it ok?

No: Secondary amenorrhea should be evaluated by a pediatric gynecologist before there's real trouble. Thanks for asking; it's good that you care and i hope a cause and effective rx is found.

my sister has a strange obsession with cutting dolls/teddies. should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Depending on her age, iq, and physical health status, i would have questions about a history of abuse (that you may or may not know about), & possible diagnoses such as borderline personality, schizophrenia, substance abuse, etc.  It is not a large step from what she is doing to self cutting.  Referral to a mental health professional or family physician is indicated.

my sister told me she has very high libido. she wants to control this. what's good out there for that cause? (other than the obvious).

Accepted Answer

Libido: It is not clear to me where that your sister has an issue that needs to be controlled. A high libido could just be a sign of a normal healthy person. If she feels her sex drive is causing her to make bad choices or interfering with  her daily life then a therapist may be helpful.

my sister has asthma and she told me that it is always disturbing her. does asthma have any cure? what cause it and what's the solution please?

Accepted Answer

Further evaluation.: The occurrence of shortness of breath with activity and worsening on lying down does raise the possibility of a cardiac abnormality. The sudden onset is not typical of asthma especially if not accompanied by wheezing. The most prudent approach would be further evaluation by her physician and referral to a specialist if recommended by the physician.

my sister is having pains in her leg she is unable to lean weight on it we have been told to see how it goes within two weeks what can cause this?

Accepted Answer

At age 12, it could: be a few causes, depending on any History of a fall or  injury to the leg, or 'growing Pains' as these would be the commonest causes. An exam by your Doc would hopefully provide you with an answer.
