No: If you have sinusitis, i will not experience tinnitus but you may. Your tinnitus may or may not have anything to do with sinusitis or the drugs used to treat it. If troubling, see an ENT doctor.

Probably not doxy: Doxycycline is not a likely cause. More likely a coincidence that it started while taking the drug, especially since it has continued this long. If one of your sinuses is plugged and filled with fluid, that could result in pulsatile tinnitus by increasing transmission of blood flow sound in an artery. Discuss with your doctor, including if other tests are indicated.

Some with asthma can flare with any illness

Unless you are pregnant or immunocompromised.  Then definitely stay away from the cat litter.  There is a nasty critter in cat waste called toxoplasma that is dangerous in that setting.

Maybe: One of the common myths about the common cold is that any yellow or green mucous means there is a bacterial infection present.  All viral upper respiratory infections (colds) can make yellow mucous even without bacteria.  The predominant feature is time and change.  If you have had a cold for longer than 7-10 days, or if suddenly you develop thicker mucous after seeming to get better, its possible.

Time: The only real sign that has proven predictive of a bacterial sinus infection vs a viral sinus infection is the length of time of symptoms (that was reported to be 10 days). Initially it is usually a viral infection and then a secondary bacterial infection occurs (7-10 days later). That is why most physicians usually recommend otc meds and conservative measure in the beginning.
