Sounds like you: Have irritated you lateral femoral cutaneous nerve.  Causes a syndrome known as meralgia parasthetica.  The nerve can get irritated by wearing a tight belt as it gets pinched at your waistline, a big belly that puts pressure on it or sitting forward for long periods of time.  Nsaids, steroids, removing the irritating factors can help. If you have heart issues, see your doc before taking meds.

Physical Therapist: The best exercises are usually those that strengthen your core.  That being said, a well trained physical therapist should guide you through the proper exercises safely after spine surgery.  Typically the goal is to balance asymmetry in the core muscles and reverse de-conditioning that has occurred since you have been healing from your surgery (thus being less active).

Tingling : Tingling in the thigh could be caused by a number of problems depending on the exact pattern of the tingling and other related features.  Probably the most common cause of tingling on the anterolateral thigh ("anterolateral" is a medical term meaning roughly "toward the outside of the front") is a condition called meralgia paresthetica.  This is caused by a pinching of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve.  This nerve can get pinched in people, like me, who are a bit too generously-proportioned.  It can also get pinched in other ways.  Tingling in a band of skin, associated with a "bubbly" rash, could be shingles.  Other things that might cause tingling in the thigh could include a process affecting the spinal cord or spinal nerve roots.  Some of these things could be serious, so it is a good idea to see a doctor rather than try self-diagnosis.

Nerve injury: Sounds like a nerve injury either from a disc in you back pushing on the nerve or some other process effecting the nerve. Have your physician check it for you

Keep watching: I suspect that this may be at the early stage of shingles but only time will time.  If you do note blisters  or pain coming on, contact your doctor to get treated promptly.

Yes: Can affect a portion of the front of the thigh.  This can be a difficult thing to treat.  Sometimes i refer people to a pain specialist to see if a nerve block will help if everything else has failed.

Cycle injury: This could be something minor such as an overuse injury or strain but thr tingling sensation requires an evaluation. See a physician for evaluation please.

Meralgia : You describe an issue with lateal femoral cutaneous nerve of thigh, c/w compression at pelvis, which causes all of your symptoms.  Benign, but annoying, and you could take nerve pain suppressant meds, but if you avoid tight clothes, belts about waist, may well find slow remission.  Check with your doctor to confirm these comments.
