i started taking flexeril 10mg 3x a day and it makes me drowsy. the feeling levels off after an hour or two. will my body get used to it or will i feel drowsy every time i take a pill?

Drowsy: Probably not. It is why many people have troubles with muscle relaxers. They do work centrally and that is why they cause sleepiness.

so, can you take flexeril and effexor xr hours apart? same day, just not at the same time?

: Yes, but since both medications cross the blood-brain barrier they can cause lethargy and cognitive effects which can be enhanced by both meds being in the system together.  There is a theoretical possibility of a condition called serotonin syndrome but this is extremely unlikely.  Closely monitor for any side effects and let your physician know of any concerns that arise.

No: Inadvertent combinations like this are frequently found in drug overdose deaths.

i have a bad back due to a severe bulging disc which i had a laminectomy for i take flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) 10 mg three times a day wondering if i can take an extra ?

No: 30 mg daily is,th maximum dose,for cyclobenzaprine.  This may cause excess daytime sedation, so,use needs to,be with care, and muscle relaxants typically are not used forever. If your need has gone over a month, ask,your doc what is being treated and if,there is a better option for treatment. Or,,see a pain doc

i take 100 mg of zoloft in morning along with 1 mg of klonopin my doctor gave me 5mg of flexeril to take 3 times a day is this combination okay.?

: Flexeril can make people very sleepy as can your clonazepam. At age 65 you’re not supposed to use Flexeril but only baclofen or tizanidine. Baclofen has an off label use for anxiety and doesn’t typically make people quite as sleepy, so that would be my recommendation.

is it safe to to take flexeril approx 5 hours after taking norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen)? i take 15mgs norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 2 or 3 times a day. trying to wean off of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).

Depends: Flexeril is a muscle relaxant with sedative properties.  Driving and using alcohol are not recommended.  Narcotics such as Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can cause respiratory depression.  Some medical conditions can complicate the use of medications, so care must be taken when using this combination of drugs.  Therefore, it is best to consult your treating physician.

Yes, Maxalt is 4 a: - migraines while Flexeril is a muscle relaxant. Not any conflicts that I can see.

What dose &amp; type: as long as the internal organs are healthy regular Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) 5 to 10 mg can be taken once every 8 hours.

Don't take 20mg: The maximum dose of flexeril is 10mg 3 times per day.  A higher dose will give a higher peak level in your blood, and could cause sedation, cardiac arrythmias, and other serious stuff.
Flexeril is a weak muscle relaxant.  In my experience, people with severe spasm often do better with baclofen, or robaxin, (methocarbamol) or tizanidine.

is it safe to take both flexeril and relafen (nabumetone) at the same time?

Yes: The two drugs show no major interactions. Always take medicine as directed.
