Safe: Although it is safe to do this i always advise people to think very carefully before they get a tattoo. Most people do not understand that tattoos are for a life, since they are very difficult to remove with laser. In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than young skin. Why, ruin it with a tattoo?

Why?: If you have an underactive thyroid, you should be treating it properly with brand name T4 replacement and keeping it in control. Better you spend the money on medical care and staying healthy than on a tat. Maybe you could get a tattoo of your thyroid or your doctor........

: I wouldn't have anything done to your neck until thyroid inflammation has completely resolved.

: Neck tattoos neither cause nor trigger migraines, assuming no local infection.  Since numerous potent medications can prevent migraines these days, see a neurologist and get this addressed.  Other triggers may be managed.

Anxiety Headache: You are getting headaches due to anxiety. Anxiety headaches are extremely common, and they can be very painful. Take NSAID or Tylenol (acetaminophen) OTC and relax.

i am a kidney recipient. however, i have keloids on my neck and chest. is it possible that i can get a tattoo?

Recommend against it: Even if you were not a kidney transplant recipient, if you have keloids, getting a tattoo can trigger keloids to form at the site of the tattoo.  In addition, since you are going to be on anti-rejection meds, you do have a higher risk of developing skin infections.

Please don't.: What's your hurry? Have the oral surgery, recover from that, then abuse your body any way you want, if you're so inclined; it's a free country. But why do anything just prior to a surgical procedure that might complicate that procedure, due to an infection or other issues? Why take that chance when it just isn't necessary?

Lymphadenitis?: If the tattoo area itself isn't swollen, red, or especially painful, this is probably just nonspecific lymph node inflammation related to the trauma and healing of the tattoo. But if any of these, or if the neck swellings are enlarging, very tender, have overlying redness, or if any fever, see a doctor immediately. Or see a doctor if in doubt.

Not specifically: The removal process is superficial and does not pose danger to you brain or spinal cord.

Unrelated: The more familiar you become with your body, the more you'll notice lymph nodes coming and going. In fact, the excitement of getting a tattoo (I have three) changes your levels of cortisol and this may have redistributed your cells that fight infection -- that's speculative. The vast majority of lymph nodes are your friends. Best wishes.
