Probably not: There are many causes for muscle cramps, but given your age and the fact that you're working in heat, my first thought would be dehydration or an electrolyte imbalance. I would go to your primary care physician and report these symptoms. He or she will most likely order some blood work to see how your electrolytes are doing. Needless to say, when you're out working in heat, it's vitally important.

i just asked this and the doctor said it had to with working in heat. i think he mixed me up with someone else. thyroid neck pain. hurts to touch.

May be thyroid: Thyroiditis, or inflammation of the thyroid gland can make the thyroid gland tender & sore to touch.  But lymph nodes in the neck can become swollen and inflamed too.  Best to see your doctor to see if the area that is sore is where the thyroid gland sits.  Thyroiditis can also cause temporary abnormalities in thyroid hormone levels, so your doctor may ask you to get blood work to check on this.

sometimes after a virus my thyroid hurts when i touch it. all labs were normal, ultrasound normal.i've had it a few times. what could cause this?

Stop touching neck: Why you keep feeling your neck for the Thyroid.It only hurts when you touch it,so stop touching it .You have had all the tests done and they are normal.That means there is nothing wrong with your Thyroid Gland.Please don't touch and feel your thyroid and there will be no pain.

Be not afraid: This could be your thyroid or any number of other problems like a sore throat or muscular neck pain. If you know you have thyroid problems you need to get this checked out right away. Start by calling your regular doctor. If you are feeling that badly go to the ER. We don't bite!

Indeed...: Sometimes after radioactive iodine treatment the thyroid gland goes though a period of inflammation, which is not dangerous, just bothersome.
Talk to your Dr. and see if he would prescribe a low dose of prednisone for just a week, or even a low dose of Indocin (indomethacin) for a couple weeks.
Please do not worry, this is not serious

Unclear question.: You had "thyroid " pain for 3 days after RAI treatment 4 years ago and now you have problem with throat pain when you turn your neck or swallow?    I think it is time for you to consult an ENT to find out what may be wrong with your throat.  I also wonder if you have a cervical spine problem but can't tell for sure based on your history. Make sure there's nothing wrong with your throat 1st.

Thyroid med: Hypothyroidism can be treated with thyroid hormone replacement.  If the diagnosis was made correctly, you most likely will need to take the pill lifelong.

Yes: collagen supplement is not a contraindicated with hypothyroidism. The question why are you taking collagen supplement . collagen is provided amply in the diet if you eat animal protein.
