Dermatology referral: The proper treatment for your folliculitis depends on the type and severity of your condition. Creams or pills are used to control bacterial infections. Creams, shampoos or pills are used to fight fungal infections. Light therapy with a medicated cream and laser hair removal are also treatment options for some cases. I highly suggest you make an appointment to see a Dermatologist.

Find the cause first: There are many possible causes of pain in the back of the neck. A doctor can evaluate to figure it out. There could be a muscle strain or spasm, inflammation in the joints or tendons, nerve pain from the spine or on the skin, an outbreak of shingles, etc...  If a person is older or otherwise at risk for cancers, the doctor will look for tumors as well. Young people more often have muscle strains.

High blood pressure: Pain can cause blood pressure to rise. If your blood pressure readings are high without pain, you will need treatment. Best would be to talk to your doctor about treatment options.

Tic medication: Most of the time, unless the tic interferes with daily life function, the potential side effects are worse than the problem. If the problem is getting worse, you may want to see your primary care or neurologist for treatment options. They will do further testing to see what medication is best.

Maybe not: You don't say what is wrong with your thyroid, and what medications you are on. If the sx in your neck are from an enlarged thyroid (goiter), the medications may or may not help.  It would be important to figure out exactly what is causing your symptoms.  Usually a modest size goiter does not cause symptoms.

The : The level of pain after a necklift and facelift varies from person to person. A lot depends on your pain tolerance. This type of surgery, in general, isn't very painful though I do prescribe a narcotic pain medication for my patients after surgery in case they need it.

The Question is?: Usually people bring us questions to answer.  Hypertension is not the cause of neck pain.  Why would you think that blood pressure medication would treat neck pain?

Be concerned: I would be worried about carotid dissection from increased blood pressure.  This is an emergency and must be evaluated immediately.  Go to er.
