No one knows what causes the cancer, but it omes in many different types, which often resemble cancers from other areas of the body, such as squamous cell cancer, lymphoma, etc.  One type of the thymic cancer, which is a malignant thymoma, is related to the muscle disease myasthenia gravis.

Untreated, every cancer will eventually kill the patient.

Gastroduodenal ulcer: Not necessarily cancer. Need to get tested for h pylori + peptic ulcer and get on antibiotics for 2 weeks is you have this.  Neuroendocrine tumor such as zes is also possible after this much acid suppression for this long. You need an upper endoscopy and internal med/gi eval.
