Strain to the hip possible.   Illiotibial band syndrome a common one too. Arthritis is possible but less likely at 24.

Hard to say: Multiple possibilities, I would encourage you to be seen.  The most common cause is some type of abnormality  of the hip itself, which usually causes pain referred into the thigh and groin area.  An exam and appropriate studies would likely reveal the cause.
