Throbbing bilateral hip pain. outer hips, goes down outer side thighs and wraps around into buttocks. lying supine hurts hips. sitting hurts, too. why?

Lower back: Pain is that distribution suggest a lumbar spine rather than a hip issue. Doc may suggest to you that it is a trochanteric bursitis but more like it is referred pain from the back.
