what to do if i have ear pain! how to help treat the throbbing?

Ear pain: Take some Motrin.  Try to 'pop' the ears by grabbing your nose and blowing hard.  This will put air into the middle ear space and may alleviate the pain if it is due to your eustAchian tube being closed.  The Motrin will help the pain either from an infection or if it is your joint by the ear causing the pain.  If you put your fingers in your ears and open the jaw and it is painful it could be TMJ

Not normal: This should be evaluated by the operating surgeon during regular office hours within 48Hrs. A warm compress to the affected side of the head may help with the pain as would ibuprofen.

External otitis: External otitis. Swimmers ear. Use OTC drops.. No Q-tips. If pain persists, see ENT doc who may insert wick and prescribe stronger drops and oral antibiotics.

Unlikely: Allergic rhinitis alone should not be causing a combination of all these symptoms.

i have been having ear pain for about a week. my ear pain only occurs in my right ear. it feels like my ear is full, its a throbbing dull and aching pain with sometimes a sharp and stabbing pain. it feels sore around the outside of my ear. ?

Ear pain: With pain for a week in one ear, you need an otoscopic examination "looking in the ear". This could be an infection; this is most likely. It could also be impacted cerumen "ear wax" or a foreign body. I even had a patient who had an insect crawl into his ear while sleeping. Therefore see your doctor. Do not stick anything in your ear.  You can use OTC "sweet oil" drops for some relief until then.

i have a large whitish spot on my left tonsil behind my tongue. the pain comes and goes and often adds ear pain; it's not throbbing. i went to the doctor who said they didn't see anything. the spot is noticeable when i shine a light on it.

Doctor can examine: Throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold, influenza, or adenovirus (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, one sees the doctor if the symptoms are bothersome, recurrent or don't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Lozenges, Tylenol, or Motrin can lessen pain temporarily.

No CT contrast when: Looking for hemorrhage (blood) in the brain or around it. This can happen with a ruptured aneurysm, or a spontaneous (or traumatic) subdural or subarachnoid hemorrhage, or even a hemorrhagic stroke. Contrast can hide the blood. 

Although unlikely, aneurysm is possible.  Please see your doctor for a workup of this problem - could be many things, such as high blood pressure.  May need MRI +/- mra.

my right ear is extremely sore to the touch. painful throbbing as well. earache drops dont seem to be working anymore. it healed then started paining again. my jaw bone on the right feels tight and pains when i try open my mouth?

Exam needed: You may have an infection of the ear drum or inflammation/infection of the ear canal. A physician or Otolaryngologist would have to examine you in order to make a diagnosis and prescribe proper treatment and follow-up will be important.
