Speech therapy: I have had patients diagnosed with stress on voice box/ vocal cords and some were sent to speech therapy. You will learn how to warm the voice up gently and learn how to speak. 
Imagine yourself as an opera singer going to a a voice teacher or vocal coach to learn how to use your voice as an instrument.

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). A couple days of throat lozenges and tylenol (acetaminophen) can decrease throat pain.

Possibly: This may be what we call extra esophageal manifestations of gerd. Most people see an ENT first, get placed on an acid reducing agent and then get referred to a gastroemterologist.

Yes: Yes see your MD if you have dysphagia you have pharyngitis and it could be strep throat or tonsillitis. Until then try ibuprofen 800 q8 and salt water gargles.

Laryngeal cyst: Get evaluated by ent. Very common in singers or people who speak loud for any reason. Cyst formed on larynx or vocal cords.

hi, i had the flu around the 4th jan. didnt take anything thinking id heal in a few days. by the 8th my cough was so bad that i couldnt speak. also had a sore throat. i got meds for it but my chest feels ticklish still. should i worry?

Doctor can evaluate: A doctor can evaluate, if more than 1 or 2 weeks, or if worried. Cough medicines are for decreasing the urge to cough, due to tickling, mucus, or mild irritation in the throat. Coughing is normal when there is mucus lower in the throat, or coming from the lungs (otherwise, mucus might stay down there). Menthol lozenges +/- anesthetic in the lozenge can help. If wheezing, may need inhalers.

i had a sore throat on the right side every time i swallowed for a couple of days, but that went away and i was good for a day. the following morning i woke up with no voice, it was hard to speak. no sore throat or other symptoms. cause for concern?

: A "sore throat" caused by a bacterial or viral infection can extend to your vocal cords, making them swell, which will stop/alter the voice modulation for normal speech.  See your physician for an exam and guidance if this continues.

i've had a sore throat for 24 hours. at rest it feels almost ok but if i speak over a whisper it burns. there is no redness or spots or fever. ?

Virus: I'd give it a few days using honey, warm salt water gargles, Ibuprofen. If persisting for 3-5 days more consider visit for strep or mono testing at your doctors. Good luck
