Gustatory rhinitis: Non-allergic causes of rhinitis (which often causes persistent postnasal mucus drip and cough) are many. One is an autonomic nerve response after eating (gustatory rhinitis).  Onset often occurs in the mid 40s-50s. Treatment is available and I would suggest starting with a Allergy consult.

Depends on the cause: if allergic rhinitis or chronic rhinitis, needs to be controlled once diagnosed right, takes few days after starting your medications, same if it was sinusitis either acute or chronic, the key issue here is right diagnosis, good luck

Nasal demoisturizing: have your doctor prescribe Azelastine spray which can dry up the dripping sinuses .  This commonly works but if the cough is persistent you might need to consult with an ENT specialist.

i get chronic uvulitits, swollen up to a point where it falls into my cheeks when i lie on my side. what is the cause? as this happens x3 times in a month. i also suffer from post nasal drip at night, every night.

Nasal steroid: A nasal steroid may be helpful, allergy testing recommended. Avoid common allergens.

: No. you still have the virus. If it was a 'rapid' test they do have false positives. Have your MD do a reg pcr test

Sinusitis : Sinusitis or inflammation of the sinuses can cause headaches. Postnasal drip causes nausea, poor appetite, and weight loss. A CSF leak leaves a salty taste in the back of the throat and/or leaks clear fluid from a single nostril. The leak is worse with straining or bending over.  See an ear nose and throat physician or otolaryngologist to monitor your symptoms.

ENT evaluation: Might need an imaging study, a CT for example, if evidence of chronic sinusitis or another problem, short courses of antibiotics alone won't help, other treatment(s) may be needed,good luck

Gagging: The drip causes obstruction the breathing through the nose and people breath through the mouth. The back of the throat dries up and people can wake up like gagging and the quality is similar to how people with sleep apnea wake up, but no, it is not real sleep apnea. Drink fluids to loosen the secretion and you may need other meds. See you doctor for treatment.

Chest pain: Chest pain for 2 days without accompanying cough, sputum, wheeze, breathing symptoms could be due to rib cage inflammation, esophageal disorder or a cardiac problem. I recommend having a physician examine you and order any tests deemed advisable in order to make a diagnosis and advise you.

i tested positive in rt pcr and after 9days of isolating in hotel, i still tested positive in rt pcr and after 9days again in hotel, i still tested positive in rt pcr for 3rd time. i don't have symptoms, only post nasal drip. what can i do? help pls?

Accepted Answer

: A PCR test is highly accurate. The resolution of symptoms and  no fever at day 10 may warrant discontinuation of quarantine. Please follow local guidelines.. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, rest and drink fluids.
