Pleural plaques: In most cases are without any symptoms and without any cause no limitation of activity. The plaques may mean previous exposure to asbestos, so the future problems of asbestos exposure are to be watched, but the plaques present won't turn to cancer either. Unles the plaques are large and many, they don't affect breathing.

Smoking: Long term smoking causes damage to ciliates epithelium of the trachea and bronchus. This in turn causes stagnant secretions, stimulating cough as well as infections. Nicotine can also cause damage to lung tissue causing cancers.

the pain in my lower back area close to my left kidney or lower left lung,  could have been caused by an abnormal twist movement this afternoon .   could it be just a lung pleurisy ?  caused by me twisting my long separating it from some lining ?

Left lower back pain: Pleurisy  unlikely unless  coughing,SOB,  and have an URTI. Pleural  separation is seen in  pneumothorax or effusion  and would be associated with more breathing issues, short of breath(SOB)- twisting is unlikely to cause it . If concerned can get a chest xray. Most likely just muscle strain from twisting for which warms soaks, NSAIDS if not allergic, can help. May also be stone. f/u/ w/ MD

Pulmonologist: Consult a pulmonologist to determine whether there is true inflammation present. The xray alone can't detect active inflammation for a certainty. It could be old inactive pleural thickening. If the pain is very sharp and fleeting, aggravated by a deep breath, it could emanate from pleural inflammation or from a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle.

Not too long: sorry to say not too long but in my view life and death is not in our hand so we all should appreciate life and live  as we are going to die tomorrow by enjoying everything in life and plan as if we are going to live for ever

Can't tell here: Sorry to hear about your mom. That extent of disease typically has a poor prognosis, but you can and should get a better sense of things from the docs who have examined your mother.

my mom got her uterus and phelopian tubes removed last year due to cancer in uterus lining. now again it has spread to lungs, liver. her right leg swollen too much.  what is the treatment and survival rate.  she is 68 years old.  ?

Bad news: Her cancer is advanced and she likely has a clot in her right leg. Best to comment on her prognosis will be her treating oncologist. While hoping for the best, prepare for the worst. In case she is no longer a candidate for cancer directed therapy, make sure she gets palliative care or hospice for better symptom control.

Possible: A common cause of chest pain is "heart burn" caused by excessive acid secreted by the lining of the stomach. The pain usually has a burning quality, although some people may describe it as sharp. Most sharp chest pain originates from the chest wall. If the pain is sharp, worsened by movement or taking a deep breath, and lasts for several seconds to minutes, it is usually chest wall pain.

Depends: it could be nothing (just underdistention of the colon), or it could reresent inflammation of the colon, even cancer. it depends on the imaging technique used, the length and severity of thickening.
