IUD: It is common for women who have a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud to stop having their period altogether or only have some very mild spotting, this can be brownish at times.  Take care!

Can give Dr. a call: Doctor may want to check for a medical issue if a woman has bothersome persistent menstrual-related symptoms. Many women have some variation of their vaginal discharge, or of their periods, or have spotting, or miss a period on occasion (due to changes in hormones). If symptoms are persistent, recurrent, or worrisome, an Ob-Gyn doctor appointment may be a good idea.

Bacterial vaginosis?: It sounds like you may have bacterial vaginosis. This will require testing with the doctor and then if confirmed treatment with antibiotics. Bacterial vaginosis is an overgrowth of normal vaginal bacteria it is not a sexually transmitted disease.

Not sure.: If you had an iud that contained Progesterone then spotting could be happening because your uterus is trying to get back to normal.  It may also be a sign of lower Progesterone level and not a miscarriage.

Abnormal bleeding: Abnormal bleeding is very common, even in someone who normally has very regular periods. It will likely correct itself. If it persists, your doctor can evaluate for causes of irregular bleeding. With an IUD and vasectomy, there would be no concern for pregnancy, assuming your boyfriend has been tested since the vasectomy and known to be sterile.

Can get checked: Bleeding and spotting is typical in the first month after and IUD insertion. The Progesterone in Skyla competes with the uterine lining leading to some spotting. Pain is not typical. Your pain may or may not be related to your IUD. The best thing to do is to schedule a follow up visit and have your doctor evaluate you.
