i have had cold/flu  like symptoms for a week and my pharmasist suggested that i take theraflu sever cold and flu medicine.. i still have these symptoms after a week of taking the medication. what should i take?

One : One week is a long time to have cold/flu symptoms. Over-the-counter medications help symptoms but don't actually treat a virus or bacteria.  With one week of symptoms, consideration for an evaluation with your doctor would be reasonable.   If you have any fever, vision problems, sinus pain, productive cough, chest pain, or shortness of breath you must be immediately evaluated.

: If you suspect covid the pl see a doc to confirm and treat ASAP.You can lake claritin in the meantime

Caution....: Please keep in mind that taking medications that cause drowsiness, such as Theraflu, while taking Lexapro (escitalopram) can exacerbate the drowsiness and impair one's ability to execute functions such as driving or operating machinery.  Recommending discussing with your doctor first and getting clearance.  Hope this is helpful.

Hard to say: Sounds like you both have something similar.It could be a cold or something else.What meds either of you took is irrelevant. Most of them do nothing with these illnesses but give you something to do.

Yes, you can: however, you must be aware that cold and flu medications can make you drowsy and when you take Lexapro (escitalopram) and Seroquel , they could magnify this side-effect. Make sure that you do not operate any machinery or drive. It may be a good time to rest , drink lots of fluids and take the time off.

hi! my friend is feeling very weak since this morning, not waking up from the bed.. temperature is around 38-38.5c. no visible symptoms. no cold, no runny nose, no sweat. had a headache but after taking theraflu it receded. can you advise anything?

: Very low grade fever,headache,weakness are nonspecific, but commonly are early symptoms of a viral illness. At this time, resting,drinking lots if fluids,Tylenol as needed are all you can do. Symptoms may localize to sore throat,runny nose,etc or to nausea &amp; diarrhea. Do a rapid at home test for covid if there's been recent exposure.

Rash; flu: Is the rash spread widely over his body or localized to a patch? Does it look like scabs? He may have chickenpox or developed shingles (reactivated chickenpox virus) from the stress of the flu infection. Should see fp asap for evaluation & treatment to prevent possible pneumonia or pain from shingles. Did he have a flu shot this year?

: If prescribed by your MD yes. If not dont mix drugs for all 3 are for different problems.

Yes: There are 4 ingredients to thera-flu max d.  Acetaminophen, guaifenesen, dextormethorphin, and Pseudoephedrine and none of those interact with amoxicillin.
