It is safe: Laser removal of hair is safe with the proper laser and proper technique. I would visit a center that has a physician on site either a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist. After your treatment you must avoid the sun on the treated area to avoid dark staining of the skin.

Not related: Your laser hair removal ; eye operation should have nothing to do (neither positive nor negative) about your ability to conceive. Now if you have abundant hair in wrong places (hirutism) which can be caused by systemic diseases(eg pcod, cushings, androgen secreting tumor, etc), you may have problems conceiving. If you had cataract removed, could have been caused by too much circulating cortisol.

The device that covers the most surface area the fastest is the light sheer duet by lumenis but any system that has an 800-900nm yag or longer wave length alexandrite laser will work. There are no standard costs for laser hair removal so in undia you would have to call around for quotes which are generally given freely over the phone.

Despite the daily foolishness that you read in the "pop" media, the things that really and truly cause cancer are either things that mutate genes (light beams won't do this) or that cause ongoing massive cell turnover (again, lasers won't do this.) decisions about body hair are extremely personal; if you know what you want, go for it.

Side effect: Sadly, this is a common side effect that many patients develop after laser therapy. It can have a tremendously negative impact on self-esteem and some patients believe it is unattractive. It is not possible to predict who will develop this skin pigmentation. In my experience, it is permanent and may even darken over time.

Lasers are very effective for hair reduction (hair isn't actually removed, just miniaturized to where it doesn't show about skin surface) in the hands of a properly trained and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Gray, blond or red hair does not respond to laser treatment. Proper laser must be used for correct skin type which is determined before tx.

Pigment change, scar: Complications include redness, a change in the pigmentation of the skin, either lighter or darker, and scarring. Redness and darkening of the skin are usually temporary. Lightening of the skin may also recover. Patients with a tan and darker skin types are at more risk.  See an experienced dermatologist or aesthetic physician in order to minimize risk of complications.
