Welding: The facial swelling and eye irritation could be secondary to welding.  The lip numbness is likely unrelated.  If it persists, i would go see a doctor for further evaluation.

See PCP: Could be early Herpes Zoster. See PCP. Some MDs treat before vesicles come out. Time will tell what it is. Burning eye is usually due to dryness but see eyeMD to be sure you do not have HZV in eye.

If you've got the fixed idea that there's something ugly, and nobody thinks you should worry about it, you may have body dysmorphic disorder, a cruel trick of the brain that your physician can help you heal.
