Maybe a gout attack: I assume you were taking the tablet because you had gout before? If so, stopping it will risk getting recurring attack(s) which tends to worsen with each subsequent episode and may/likely cause joint damage/gouty arthropathy (arthritis due to gout). So, check with doc before stopping it. If you have side effect from it, there maybe other options. Consult doc. Good luck.

None should occur!: Gout is  completely remmitible.  You should be on a uric acid lowering drug (s), and one pill of Colchicine per day at a minimum.  Nsaids and steroids (by injection or orally) are given for pain and acute inflammation.  Afterwards, the need to lower uric acid is lifelong, and if managed properly, it should not affect sporting activities, provided joint damage is not significantly present.

Not appropriate ther: Affected joints can be injected.  Typically, patients are given nsaids and started on Colchicine for several days before starting a drug to lower uric acid, which causes gout.  Shotgun therapy with high does steroids may give relief, but side effects are plenty.  I have never done this for gout and I am in rheumatology!

Consult your doctor: Allopurinol classified as category C-evidence of birth defects in animal studies at high doses, no human studies exist, decision to stay on allopurinol is based on risk versus benefit.  Omega-3 supplementation has documented benefit in pregnancy specifically 1.6 g of EPA and 1.1 g of DHA beginning at week 25 for pregnancy until 3rd month of breast-feeding- less food allergy&amp;eczema. coq10 not safe.

Uric acid crystals trigger a immune-mediated inflammatory reaction, causing pain, swelling and redness of the joints, which is experienced as a gout attack. High levels of uric acid may be due to hereditary reasons for uric acid overproduction, underexcretion, diet and medications.
