L-trytophan is an essential amino acid that is converted into serotonin, a neurotransmitter. L-tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that is converted into neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine &amp; epinephrine. All are safe for human use but always check w/your Family Doc (who might recommend bupropion).

Those are not known to be effective treatments of serotonin syndrome. Prevention of serotonin syndrome is unstudied in medical literature so it is impossible to say whether taking those supplements will help. However, I would say that I'm very skeptical that this will help. Please be careful

No. : Trouble with protein supps is we are hoping the body converts them the way we need them to be. Also very few things cross the blood-brain barrier when doping is created so it is doubtful that that tyrosine supps will either.

It's very safe and works best if you take it at least an hour before bedtime.

: I assume you had these tests because of high blood pressure. I assume you're not taking any meds that can raise urinary dopamine. A study showed that elevated urinary dopamine alone wasn't diagnostic of pheochromocytoma. Elevated plasma epinephrine alone is nonspecific &amp; seen in stress, vigorous exercise, alcohol use,smoking, caffeine excess. An endocrinologist can advise you best.
