Possible eating diso: It is possible to have an eating disorder and still have a normal bmi.  Anorexic people tend to have very low bmi because they eat very little if at all and loose extreme amount of weight.  People with bulemia are more likely to have a normal bmi. They binge on food and then purge with induced vomiting.

i have a bmi of 16.0 and i think it's alright but apparently anything under 17 is considered anorexic. how can i get that extra 1 bmi?

Says who?: You're anorexic if you have inappropriate thoughts and behaviors about food. The bmi was not developed for individuals and shouldn't replace common sense. John cena is not "obese" and many elite runners are "underweight". Almost all men and most women want some muscle for which you can do resistance training, but the key here is staying fit ; your weight will take care of itself.

Please get help.: Symptoms of Anorexia may include low body weight, fear of gaining weight, over- exercising, use of laxatives, diuretics, diet pills or supplements to manage weight, feeling fat, marked weight loss, skipping meals, fatigue, low blood pressure, cold intolerance, preoccupation with one’s weight, body fat or food, lack of menstrual period. Etc.

BMI of 13 dangerous: Whatever label one might put on it, a BMI of 13 is dangerous. Anorexia nervosa is very serious. Young women die from it all the time. Please get help with this life-threatening condition. There's nothing more tragic than an otherwise healthy young woman literally starving herself to death because of deranged body image. Please do not minimize or rationalize this. Get help. Your life is at stake.

Well rounded is best: A high sugar diet,is really not the best choice,for anyone.  While some sugar in your,diet is ok, this should be in the context of a well rounded and nutritionally balanced diet.  Work with a nutritionist to figure out how to best do this.

No: As long you are in good health, performing your daily activities, not obsessed with your weight, it is okay. You will gain weight, as you age, do not get too worked up if your BMI goes up to 20 or so.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Not enough info: We don't know what your current  BMI is. Every time you start losing weight - you are likely losing a lot of muscle.  Minimal muscle can give a skeletal appearance.

It's variable: But generally requires a body weight at least 104# or above. The longer you've had the problem, the longer it will take to resolve. Plus, if you're 48 years old, you may have already entered menopause and periods may never return to "normal". Check w/your doctor.
