Yes, but Expensive: Unlike most conventional moisturisers, physiogel contains ceramide and other physiological lipids that help replace moisture and repair the skin’s damaged lipid barriers. These ceramide moisturisers can be fairly expensive, but some patients get very good results. Make sure you are practicing good skin hygiene measures in addition to daily moisturization.

Old remedy: The formulation you described is an old formulation by Dr Kligman a dermatologist who was treating acne and pigment issues. This formulation will decrease melanin production that causes pigments to be produced the hydroquinone and to a lesser extent the steroid do this. The tretinoin is Retin-A and that will help regulate exfoliation/

Difficult to say: Not all moisturizers are equal and you should use a non-comedogenic mositurizer. Furthermore not all delivery vehicles or preparations are equivalent. Microspheres allows a time release effect that is more gentle on skin. Furthermore separation of the two components allows you to increase the potency as you build tolerance. I am a fan of the component approach albeit the inconvenience.

Accepted Answer

Yes, but...: It's ok to change soaps and creams used on the skin, unless they are medications. If one finds a helpful product, she can stick with it, because changing around may not make a lot of difference. Many people over-wash their faces and their skin. Skin naturally needs to be water-repellent or water-proof, so needs a natural amount of oil on it. A dermatologist can help, if one has many skin symptoms.

Pure vit D oil: Avoid creams with methyl and propyl parabens and fragrances. The pur vit d 3 oil, 1, 000 units per drop in medium chain triglycerides only,  is a very effective topical treatment for dry skin. Don't take with calcium supplements and do take with vit k2 which keeps calcium in the bones and teeth. See nick perricone's book as well.  Be careful about make-up.  Find out why skin so sensitive.
