No official rec but: CoQ10 naturally occurs in every cell of our bodies so it's not considered an essential nutrient &amp; there is no officially recommended dose. However, I advise a healthy person take 50 mg/day of the Ubiquinol form (which is better absorbed) as a preventive anti-aging agent. Those suffering from illnesses like heart disease &amp; diabetes may benefit from 200-300 mg/day. See

Desminopathy: Desminopathy is a rare and newly described disease. I doubt that there's any information on coq10 in it as there's not all that much good data on coq10 in common problems.

years ago a dr advised me to take pycogenol for my fibromyalgia. can anyone weigh in on this , suggest dosage, or recommend any others. coq10 helps.?

PYCOGENOL 1mgm/Kgm: There is no study to suggest that pycogenol is effective therapy for fibromyalgia, but the recmmended dose is 1mgm per kgm. 
Coq 10 has been recommended by many for muscle pain due to drugs statins used to reduce cholesterol, and its use for other conditions is controversal, if you like to try use 100 mgm per day and if your symptoms do not improve in one month stop taking it.

What for?: What do you expect Coq 10 for you?  It is prudent to tell you doctor who prescribed Crestor about all the medications, including OTCs you are taking or plan to take.

Lots of supplements: You must have a lot of money to spend
exercise and good diet are key
no alcohol or drugs is important
there is no proof that gluten or dairy will be an issue for your lupus nor is the gmo food particularly bad - it is made so they use less pesticides which are bad!

there is no proof that coq10 treats anything. No dose has been shown to be effective.  1200 mg daily is the most that's ever advised however.
