Preferrably nowhere: As a radiologist, i was pressured into doing a percutaneous ultrasound-guided biopsy of the testis. It was unsuccessful. I asked three of my interventional radiologist colleages about it, and none of them had ever successfully done one.  It is generally not performed, and the one i attempted was a special case.

Don't know: But there will be costs for biopsy itself, lab, pathologist, the physician doing the procedure, etc. Why do you need bilateral biopsies in the first place?

how long to have sex after a testis biopsy?

Accepted Answer

Depends on pain: There is no contraindication to having sex -- although there are two caveats: you may have blood in the semen (ejaculate) -- but, if you don't look, you won't see it;  you may have pain in the scrotum or be sensitive. I suppose if you are not too vigorous or bouncy, you should be fine.  If there is a suture, you cannot get it wet until they have been removed or it has healed -- so think about that.

Testicular problem: The high FSH level indicates that you have had damage to your testicles, or you have a genetic cause for inability to produce sperm.  The high FSH does not cause the problem, rather it is your pituitary gland reacting to the problem.

IGCNU is serious: Orchiectomy is the recommended treatment  for such tumors in the testicles

Azospermia hypogonad: Before getting a testicular biopsy, i would probably get a karyotype.  A distinct possibility is klinefelter's syndrome.

i had pelvis us and found lining to be 16mm. spotting after menopause (age 63) should i consider hysterectomy now? going for biopsy soon.

Yes, get the biopsy,: you have a risk of developing abnormal cells in the uterine lining, with this history.

i had a cone biopsy a mo. ago. i have discharge clear and brown. hurt to pee pelvis pain.. did i do something wrong. no intercourse?

Accepted Answer

: Cone biopsy one month ago should not cause dysuria (painful voiding and frequency) and pelvic pain, your current symptoms are consistent with genitourinary infection, not sexual related. Drink well, 2 liters/day, in the meantime and see or call your doctor for further advice.

had a ultrasound last week.  have edometrial stripe of 6.1,small complex cyst, and mild free fluid in pelvis.  scheduled for end/biopsy. worried!

Probably normal: The endometrial stripe measurement would be thick if you were past menopause. The biopsy is to check the tissue and make sure nothing worrisome is occurring. The cyst may be resolving on it's own (which is why the free fluid in the pelvis) but may be followed with ultrasound. If no resolution further evaluation may be necessary.

neck lymph nodes for years. on left now right. ct neck, chest, abd, pelvis negative except neck nodes up to 2cm. needle biopsy reactive change. why?

Possible allergy: May want to consider removal of whole lymph node for more thorough evaluation. Could be allergy or some other chronic inflammatory state or some basic lymphatic problem. To get best evaluation would have complete removal of largest node and evaluation by allergist, hematologist and infectious disease physician to have best chance at definitive answer.
