Depends: Depends on screening tool.  Many screening tests will detect a variety of amphetamine like substances - metabolites of ephedrine, (ephedrine sulfate) Pseudoephedrine or others of the substituted phenethylamine group - a very large group.  If positive on screening tool,  gas chromatography / mass spectrometry will confirm the compound and  its metabolites. There are no false positive gc/ms.

Did you take them?: If you didn't take any amphetamines I would say there is a false test.  The fact that you are asking this question suggests you are looking for an excuse for you to abuse pills.   Own up to your problem and get help.  Looking for excusing is looking for someone to help enable your downhill course into addiction and abuse.  You should tell whoever is testing all your prescribed and OTC medications.
