if you had a testicle torsion, would discomfort go on for many months/ years? my 36 year old son, who had inguinal hernia surgery at age 4, always complains of pain in lower left abdomen and testicle, he has vericocele too, is this a serious worry?

: Sometimes one of the nerves ( ilio inguinal or ilio hypogastic )  can get caught in the scar after any inguinal surgery can cause such symptoms. Varicocele causes a dull ache or feeling of heaviness. It is not serious but he should see a Urologist.

Referred pain: The testicle and closely attached structures (epididymis) form in the abdomen very early in life and then migrate later to outside of the body. This means that the nerve supply originates in the abdominal area -and you are experiencing this firsthand. Hopefully the treatment for epididymitis will lead to resolution. Has anything been confirmed? Good to see doc to make sure you're on track to heal.

: You should see your urologist again. That symptom could be a manifestation of chronic pelvic pain syndrome and chronic prostatitis can be the cause.

Testicle pain: Does hot necessarily mean a torsion has resolved  it is wise to see a physician as if the torsion persists it may result in the loss of the testicle .
