how quickly does a penis heal after testicular cancer surgery?

The penis is fine!: Testicular cancer surgery removes the testicle from the scrotum and does not affect the penis. There may be some pain and swelling for a few days, but after that goes away the penis should work just fine!  If only one testicle is removed there is enough testosterone that erections should be normal.

Small groin incision: Incision is made in the groin to secure blood supply from testicle before testicle is pulled up in to groin &amp; out of the incision, to prevent spread. You will lose the affected testicle, which can be replaced with a prosthesis, if this is important to you. Post-operative pain should not be severe. Further treatment by radical lymph node dissection depends upon cancer type &amp;/or nodal involvement.

can testicular cancer be on the bottom of the testical??

can you separate the mass from the testical? (not fully but i can kind of pull it away) i have a soft mass at the bottom of my left testi(firm testi)

undecended right after age 1 got surgery?

Mass in scrotum : Please see your doctor for a diagnosis and please don't leap to conclusions.  There are a number of possibilities and cancer is far down on the list but you do need to get it checked out.  Peace and good health.

husband has a dull pain in his balls that sometimes goes up to abdomen. it gets worse with certain movements like playing basketball or riding bike. he had a sports hernia surgery 3 years ago. could it be related? worried its testicular cancer?

: Testicular discomfort can radiate to the abdomen. I recommend an examination of his testicles by a urologist to determine the cause if his frequent testicular discomfort and apparent tenderness. If both testicles are involved, cancer is unlikely.  I don't think the sports hernia surgery plays a role though.

i had a surgery to remove my right testicle due to torsion then the testicle dying and getting a infection will this decrease or increase chance of testicular cancer my family has no history of it and i've never had it?

: Torsion of testis is a benign condition. it has no relationship to Cancer of the testicle.
So you do not need to worry about it. I think the problem has been taken care of for the long hall.

i just had surgery on the 17 th of this month for testicular cancer i smoked a cigarette does it bother the process or will i catch another infection and also does masturbating after surgery bother as well? i had my right testical removed?

: Nicotine slows healing by constricting blood vessels &amp; impeding blood flow. Avoid it. What you can get by with in sexual activity likely doesn't matter if you don't overdo it.

i've been reading about cryptorchidism risk factors and i remember that it said it testicular cancer was one of them. if you had surgery for it before as an infant (one that's retractile), would you still be at increased risk? how much?

Accepted Answer

: Retractile testes are not associated with the same complications as true undescended testes such as increased risk of malignant transformation or subfertility. If you had it fixed at early age, I would assume the testicular cancer risk is not much higher than other men.

can the veins under my left testicle after a varicocele surgery cause testicular cancer?  and also why do i feel slight pain on top of my left testicle 4 months after surgery

See below: The residual veins will not cause cancer.
If the pain is getting better, you may watch and wait. If it is not getting better or is getting worse, it would be appropriate to contact the surgeon for an evaluation.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

how can i regain my lost hair ?.which were lost due to chemotherapy and surgery treatment for testicular cancer. my one testes ball also removed.

Depends on hair root: Chemotherapy is given to kill cancer cell and save the person, not to save the hair, some will loose after initiation of treatment  hair will grow back in 2  to 3 wks  after completion in most of the time , in very few the hair roots also are killed will never grow back.

Accepted Answer

Both: Risk of cancer is greater in undescended testicle by 4-6 times but is somewhat increased even in the normally descended testicle 1-2fold increase as opposed to patient with two normally descended testicles.
