Cause of the cough: The cause of the cough should be determined. If you have nasal congestion, nasal saline rinses are helpful. If you have a history of wheezing, you may need an inhaler. 
Please follow up with a physician. If you cough for more than 3 weeks, your physician will evaluate your for chronic cough.

: Any cough lasting more than two weeks needs to be evaluated by a lung doctor to rule out systemic issues. If you get fever or have lost weight it is doubly important for you to see a doctor.

DRUG QUESTION: No documented 'interactions' however Tessalon commonly causes 'dizziness' (and ironically headache); while Rizatriptan can cause drowsiness.  Taking the two together maybe augmenting these common side effects and making them more pronounced.

Maybe: It seems you have more than bronchitis. Do you smoke? As you may have COPD or asthma exacerbated by the infection. If your doctor ordered it, you should follow their instructions.

grandmother has influenza a.  on tamiflu (oseltamivir) and tessalon pearls.  nauseated and threw up orange/yellow mucous.  is this normal?  should we worry?

Mabye: It depends. If she is otherwise in good health, she should do well . If she has a high fever, feels weak or short of breath or can't keep down liquids then she could get into trouble quickly. You should give an update to her provider that gave her the tamiflu, (oseltamivir) if you are concerned.

A good start: Nasonex (mometasone) ia good start if one suspects environmental allergy causing symptoms described for duration of greater than 2 weeks. However, it will take days to weeks of daily use to reach maximum efficacy. Would add twice daily saline irrigation and oral antihistamine such as cetirizine (Zyrtec otc). Can even add decongestant to the antihistamine for faster short-term relief. See allergist for work up

: There is no interaction between them in Epocrates.  As long as you are not taking more than the recommended dosages, the combination should be okay. I hope you feel better soon.
