i have uncontrollable blood pressure.  i am currently on metoporol conodine benicar and tekturna hct (aliskiren and hydrochlorothiazide).  still can't control it.

A full work up: Secondary causes need to be ruled out like adrenal adenomas, renal artery  stenosis etc. Then if no other cause found  then starting you on meds like your on is reasonable. Sometimes drugs like Minoxidil is needed  this is very potent  if this doesnt work then newer techniques like radiofrequency ablation  near the kidneys may be used.

taking tekturna hct (aliskiren and hydrochlorothiazide) 150 mg + benicar+clonodine+metoprol 100mg per day.  have muscle pain in both arms.  can any of these be causing muscle pain.

Unlikely: But you & your physician may be interested in looking at other causes that would be more common starting with musculoskeletal.

my blood pressure suddenly shot up to 170/130 . i have been placed on exforge hct 10/160/12.5 , i noticed after i take the medication in the mornings my blood pressure stabilizes to 100/70, then at bedtime when i check it increases to118/86 or 120/95?

Bp treatment: More experts in the field of hypertension recommend taking antihypertensive medication at bedtime to combat the surge of blood pressure that tends to occur in the early morning hours when strokes and heart attacks tend to be more common. However, don't make any changes in your treatment without getting advice and supervision from your treating physician who knows you best.

can the medication "telmisaran/hct cause the protate to swoll?

ARB: Telmisaren is an angiotensin receptor blocker (arb) and hct is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that controls blood pressure. Neither should interfere with the prostate (but the hct will make you need to go to the bathroom more often, which can be difficult if you have a prostate problem).

A : A difference in blood pressure from one arm to the other can be due to arterial disease, with hardening of the arteries leading to a narrowing of the blood vessel that supplies one of the arms; specifically the one with the lower blood pressure reading.  This is generally seen in older patients with established vascular disease and is usually not dangerous.  The blood pressure in the higher reading arm should be used when making decisions regarding medications for high blood pressure.  Differential blood pressure readings, especially when lower in the left arm, can also be due to disease in the aorta, which can affect younger patients and can be very serious.  From what you have described i would advise you to have this evaluated further.

Yes, : Yes, it can be a side effect from your medications.    Other possibile causes of salty taste in the mouth are sinus problems, salivary gland problems, or dehydration.
