Tegretol and Advil (ibuprofen): Yes   -  there is a minor interaction between Tegretol (carbamazepine) and ibuprofen in the sense that the metabolism of Ibuprofen will be increased so the levels in your system will be lower  -  meaning you may need to take more Advil.   BUT   my recommendation -  start taking both medications and see if you notice anything.  If not  - do NOT increase the dose of Ibuprofen (Advil)

Ibruprofen ok: In general, Tegretol can be used safely with ibruprofen.  However, any codeine or opioid combination should be avoided with use of depressants like Tegretol, since the effects can be magnified.  Moreover, with the diagnosis of sciatica, use of opiods in general has been thought to be the therapy of last resort; please consider seeing your physician to determine other therapeutic options.

Yes: The medicine in vicodin works on different pain receptors than ibuprofen.  In addition,  Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory where vicodin is not.

Status migrainous: this may be status migranous (if classic migraine features are present) and when it persists and escalates for days, it may require IV treatment in ER or urgent care with more potent medications (ex: Toradol) to get aborted. by now its unlikely triptan class abortive (ex:imitrex,zomig) would work. in the interim try naproxen as it is longer acting.

See below: The side effects are similar to all nsaids. They include stomach/gi side effects such as stomach pain, GI bleeding etc. They can cause kidney function to be lower. Patients with heart problems need to be careful with this type of medication. Liver function abnormalities are rare. Skin rash are possible but again rare. Read all information regarding side effects of nuprin (ibuprofen).
