toothache pain can't see dentist at moment but pain is mostly mild sometimes excruciating but when i rest my head on my arm on the side of the effected tooth my whole jaw shakes teeth chatter what could cause that?

: You are putting pressure on the area of the tooth that is in question, thus causing more trauma to the tooth. Since you can't see a dentist now, take Tylenol ES. and some Advil or Motrin. Ask your dentist for advice and best way to resolve this situation until you can make an appointment, don't wait too long, you could end up loosing the tooth or causing a more expensive treatment.

Muscle spasm?: I have found that some of my patients experience shivering like action of their teeth because of two things. The first is spontaneous muscle spasms due to a parafunctional habit. The long term clenching of jaw muscles will make them fatigued and "shaky" . The second would be from an extreme mineral deficiency. I would ask you about recent blood tests, dietary focus and vitamin/mineral supplements.

Normal reaction: When cold, Anxious or in pain brain sends a message to the muscles to twitch. It is normal reaction when stimulus is there. If chattering happens when there is no stimulus or last long after the pain or anxiety is gone it might be a neurological issues and a consultation is needed

NTI: Ck with your dentist to make sure the nti is properly adjusted. If it is too thick it can cause the jaw and facial muscles to fatigue and/ or be sore.  If it is too thin, you can still be grinding against your teeth causing sore facial muscles and a painful tmj.
In either case, the chattering should disappear once the jaw muscles have relaxed. Moist heat applied to the face should help.

my roommate was really cold all of a sudden teeth were chattering, we were inside and the room was warm. what does this mean?

He may be sick: He may be coming with an infection and getting fever.If it continues he should see a doctor.

Tremor?: It sounds like a type of tremor that may only be obvious when your teeth are close together because the range of movement is small. An evaluation by a neurologist will be helpful to assess the nature and treatment options for this.
