Combination vaccine: TD is a combination vaccine for tetanus and diptheria, while the TDAP also contains pertussis. They can be given together without risk even though it is redundant.

Absolutely!: It is perfectly safe and thank you for thinking of the safety of your granddaughter and the other kids in the NICU by getting protected against whooping cough (the "p"). By the way, at your age you should not get dtap, but Tdap.  Same vaccines but different quantities of the vaccine components to provide someone your age with the right amount of each.  dtap is for children under age 7.

Vaccine: The Tdap has tetanus, pertussis and diphtheria protection, but the Td has tetanus and diphtheria protection only. Tetanus and diphtheria boosters are recommended every 8-10 years ( overlap is ok) to prevent tetanus infections. Tdap is recommended  to decrease pertussis infection in the community, esp for new parents so they cannot pass pertussis to their children.

No problem: If anything, your system will benefit from the booster effect of the components of the vaccine. These vaccines are benign.Unless you develop a specific sensitivity to a component (tetanus toxoid for some) doing them this often has no negative effects, .

Tdap, Usually: Unless there is a specific reason not to vaccinate against pertussis (whooping cough) such as a previous allergic reaction, tdap is preferred. Currently, people 65 and older can receive a dose of tdap, with boosters of td every 10 years.

Yes it is: Pertussis vaccine is now given as tdap vaccine in late second trimester or third trimester.
It gives protection to the mother as well as limited protection to the baby.

$64 at pharmacy: Their is a range of costs but this vaccine may be available at low or no cost from your county health department. At walgreens' which is a pharmacy chain, the cost currently is $64.  The tdap is the recommended booster for someone who hasn't had a pertussis vaccine since childhood.  The td (which contains tetanus and diphtheria but not pertussis) is usually less. Insurance may cover your cost.

What do you feel: When did you get the shots and what are your symptoms.You had tdap and meningitis shot but why did you have Flu shot.Flu shots are not being given in April
Anyway drink plenty of fluids,take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever or pain and if keep feeling sick consult your doctor or go to ER
