Unknown, encouraging: Transcutaneous aortic valve replacement is a new technology.  The valve itself is placed by cushing the old valve in place.  It is used when the standard operation is too risky.  So the valve may last as long as the patient is alive.  It is not recommended if you can have valve by surgery.  If the valve wears out then a repeat tavr may be the next step. Hope this helps.

TAVR: Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) involves implanting a device (a stent-like frame with a valve inside it) where the existing aortic valve sits between the heart and the aorta. The original valve is not removed. TAVR is currently an option for certain patients with Aortic Stenosis (their own valve does not open well) particularly those who are not good candidates for surgery.

Sounds very serious.: Your cardiologist should appeal to your insurance company.  Your case is very unusual because of previous chest wall radiation.  Prognosis without procedure depends on aortic valve area, pressure gradient, native myocardium, and a lot of other factors.  You need to ask your cardiologist.

No: If the TAVR were the cause, it would affect both ankles symmetrically. Look for a localized cause: varicose veins, ruptured Baker's cyst (from an arthritic knee), cellulitis, or a deep vein thrombosis - would be the most common causes. Sometimes, no cause is found.

: An incomplete right bundle branch block represents some degree of damage to one's conduction system and merits careful monitoring with serial EKG's, careful history-taking for symptoms of dizziness or syncope (fainting), and ambulatory EKG monitoring.  This will enable a decision regarding the potential need for a pacemaker implantation.

i had tavr surgery in sept. of 2015.  dr. put me on metoprolol tartrate & .81 asprin. now take 1 asprin every other day.  should i have bleeding under the skin from every little scratch?  i am also having shortness of breath when walking outside?
