Likely: Eating anything could affect the color and character of your stools.  Tan and brown stool by far is the normal color, due to normal degradation of bilirubin in the digestive tract.

Mucus: Mucus is usually produced in response to inflammation or infection.  Sounds like he should probably have some blood and stool analysis in order to evaluate this.

Yes: your intestine has a certain capacity to absorb fats, and if you exceed that capacity, you can get tan colored stools that are fluffy and float on top of the water in the toilet.  This is called "steatorrhea."

See below: If only one isolde of white/tan stools, and then return to normal colors, likely ok.  If continues, get seen by pcp for evaluation as white/ grey stool can indicate biliary/liver issues.

in january i had covid and had extreme coughing. something popped in my mid right rib area. it got better and i re popped it by sneezing a month later. it still bothers me only slightly. today my poop first came out fatty and light tan. is this norma?

: Severe coughing can cause a cracked rib although it is more often in older people. When you sneeze the rib can be cracked again. I do not think those 2 incidents with your thorax have anything to do with the liver or GI tract which may explain your stool's characteristics. You continue to observe your stool appearance and bowel habit for now. See a GI doctor if you notice a persistent abnormality.

: Yes, normal. Regardless of age, any stool color other than light gray-white or black almost never indicates any health problem.

I would encourage you to decrease alcohol consumption if you were a daily heavy drinker and are still consuming moderate amounts of alcohol. If you are wondering if the single light colored stool is suggestive of cirrhosis, I would say it's impossible to tell just based on stool color. Irregardless, moderate-heavy alcohol use does lead to cirrhosis, and I'd recommend cutting back or quitting.

hi this is a gross question but lately i have been noticing a couple tan/whitish seed like specks in my stool. i thought it was undigested food at first but it keeps happening and now im worried. everything else seems normal. should i be worried?

Specks in stool: These could be hardened pieces of mucus and not parasites. Presence of mucus is not pathological especially if you have no bowel symptoms. I think you're ok but continue observing your stool for any other abnormalities.
