YES: Phototherapy, a medical procedure in which your skin is carefully exposed to ultraviolet light. A dermatologist performs this treatment.   Medicines applied to the skin, such as:  corticosteroid creams or ointments, immunosuppressant creams or ointments, such as pimecrolimus (e), methoxsalen, skin graft, and lastly, several cover-up makeups or skin dyes can mask vitiligo.

Alkaline water: While acidic water is unsafe, alkaline water is safe as long as the ph is not over 8.5. Nevertheless, the stomach acid will lower the ph anyway. Therefore I envision no ill effects on tacrolimus, your neurotic syndrome or your serum blood tests. However, I would like your pharmacist to answer your question,also and verify my opinion.

6-12: Talk to your transplant pharmacist.  After a solid organ transplant you need conselling from a transplant pharmd.  The level of tacrolimus is not the only criteria to be concerned about.  They will talk to you about interactions between medications and how frequent to expect any medical changes.  Your team of surgeon, hepatologist, pharmd and psychologist will all help as well as your nurse practi.

Skin cancer: Prograf suppresses the immune system and does make one more prone to skin cancer.  Since the vast majority of skin cancers remain localized, one need not worry about rapid spread.  It is a very good idea to practice good sun sense if you are immunosuppressed.  This would include coverup clothing and sunscreens when outdoors.

i've had diarrhea for 3 weeks and  was wondering if i need to have my tacrolimus level checked?
i'm on advagraf and have been reading that diarrhea could significantly affect tacrolimus levels.

Diarrhea: Tacrolimus side effects include diarrhe, but also for some constipation, nausea and or vomiting. Stomach pains, loss of appetite or headache.  Other more common side effects include shaking, insomnia, dizziness. Also, if you have had diarrhea for 3 weeks you should probably be checked for that alone.

Safety tips: It is not known if Elidel (pimecrolimus) cream is safe to use for a long period of time (possible cancer?) 
do not use Elidel (pimecrolimus) cream continuously for a long time. 
Use Elidel (pimecrolimus) cream only on areas of your skin that have eczema. 
Do not use Elidel (pimecrolimus) cream on a child under 2 years old.

Could be affected: Your immune system is not as strong while using prograf, so be careful and use social distancing if around someone with the flu.  Hand washing after contsact is especially important.

Atopic dermatitis?: Tacrolimus ointment is a non steroidal medication commonly prescribed for atopic dermatitis. It suppresses inflammation caused by your immune system by inhibiting the enzyme calcineurin needed to replicate T-cells, which are necessary to activate your immune system.

Eczema: Tactile mud is useful in eczema treatment but a few percentage of patients using it may have the risk of developing cancer. Hence the appointment with a Dermatologist.

2 different meds: Each of these medications works differently. Metronidazole is an antibiotic and Tacrolimus is an immune suppressant. Your skin condition could be an inflammatory or autoimmune cause. Good luck. Please see your doctor for more answers.
