i got put in salt tabs. are they going to cause me to gain weight?

Accepted Answer

No: Salt does not have any calories. It only contains sodium and chlorine.  I would guess that your sodium may have been low and taking salt tablets would increase that level.

used to take caffeine tab every day.but recently had overdose twice without changing qty.what can be the reason? what i felt was bad.

Accepted Answer

: Trenvir is known to cause gastric distress and discomfort. (nausea, diarrhea, vomiting). D-tabs should not cause any gastric inflammation. Ferro F tabs may cause some constipation, nausea and diarrhea.

accidentally took and xtra 5mg amlodypine tab right after just took one.   i also take 100mg toprol xl 2x a day . will this xtra cause me any problems?

Extra dose: I recommend monitoring for dizziness, weakness, and check your blood pressure since it may drop a little bit more with the extra dose. Otherwise if no symptoms then you should be fine.

Maybe: The data is unclear on this (my opinion), but in general, it wouldn't cause a miscarriage. It is not a medication that we recommend people take just because you have nothing better to do, though, so i assume you are/were on it because of possible exposure (travel to an endemic area), in which case, it is highly recommended and way less dangerous than malaria, so you should still take it.

i am taking k-tab for my potassium. is there a reason i might not be absorbing or digesting it?

Causes of low K: Normally, people have no problems absorbing potassium (k) from their GI tract. A low k level can be due to, diuretics, most commonly.  Kidney transplant patients can also have low k levels as well as those with a distal renal tubular acidosis and a low magnesium level. Patients with conn's syndrome and leukemia can also have low k levels as well as those with diarrhea and vomiting.

it is ok for an adult  men if it takes 1 multivitamins tab everyday to stay fit . will it causes harm if taken for few months?

Accepted Answer

No: There are vit or minerals that can be contraindicated in certain conditions such as vit k when a person in on warfarin. If there is no medical problems that should be ok. If in doubt it is always best to discuss with your physician if anything is contraindicated in your condition.

Unlikely: The meds are an unlikely cause but to be absolutely sure, skip them for 2 days - they wear off in 24 hours.

i'm 23 yrs old and i'm taking femilon tabs for last 2 months for this reason i put on 5 kilos. is this permanent or shedding down within 2-3 months? and when shall i conceive?

Birth control: Femilon is a brand of birth control pills available in some countries. You ask when you will conceive. Birth control pills are designed to prevent pregnancy so one should not get pregnant while taking them if using them correctly. Weight gain is a not a direct side effect of birth control pills.

can a pseudophedrine overdose cause heart damage?  over dose was 120 - 30mg tabs of sudafed.

Get help: Pseudoephedrine can cause blood vessel contraction or spasm, but probably will not cause significant heart damage. Far more concerning to me is the purposeful overdose. If you are depressed, suicidal, or have any thoughts about hurting yourself, you need to get help immediately. Whatever the problem, you can get help and it will get better!
