Won't work: That's probably going to make things worse. Internet charlatans make this sort of thing up as cruel pranks. If topical benzoyl peroxide has failed after two weeks, your physician has medicine that can clear you. Don't be a sucker for something that you already know won't help. Best wishes.

Read the label: You need to ask the Prescribing Doctor so that you have continuity of care as you and your treating Dr. should have developed a plan of treatment together.  Not to mention, there should be labeled instructions on the bottle from your Dr. which would usually be once daily for acne-BUT ask the Dr.

Doxycycline is a: good choice for treating acne. If it works for you, I would continue taking it.  Taking it after meals reduces episodes of stomach upset.  One possible side effect from chronic antibiotic use is disruption of your normal bowel bacteria, which can result in chronic diarrhea. Once your acne has resolved, you could stop the medication to see if acne returns.

stopped taking the pill a fee months ago and now i'm getting huge pimples/acne. will it go away?

Yes, with attention: One positive side effect of the pill is that it keeps your skin clear and may actually clear up acne.  It is not,surprising,that,you notice a change after stopping.  If you can't get it under control and it is bothering you  a dermatologist can help.  But you may be able to clear it up on your own.

Prednisone, aldacton: Other options including prescription topical medications is short term use of oral Prednisone 5 mg per month, Aldactone (spironolactone) a water pill used as an anti androgen or tagamet used as an anti androgen. Not the best: The best antibiotics for acne have been the tetracycline/doxycycline/minocycline family of antibiotics as they concentrate in the hair follicles where the inflammation is.  See your dermatologist.

my skin broke out with pimples, i thought its rash so i got allegex cream but it didnt help. for the month i have be taking zinplex tablets and washing my face with benzac ac 5 wash or hypodermmd and apply benzac gel. but it worse what can i do?

Acne: Things to consider:  Do not rub skin, careful with bike helmets, backpacks or tight collars, decrease exposure to pollutants and humidity, no squeezing or picking at blemishes, do not scrub skin hard.  Given you have been using astringents, and still having problems talk to your provider use of a topical or oral antibiotic may help.

i have a rash after going to the beach. it looks like blister pimples. its red and itchy on my arms and legs. i went to the pharmacy and they gave me a antihistamine tablet with itch cream and histodor cream. could it be swimmers rash?

Rash: It is possible that you have a skin infection caused by a waterborne parasite. It could also be a dermatitis rash due to sun and irritation. Take the antihistamines for the next 24 hours to see how it affects the rash. See a Dr if the rash worsens and spreads for a thorough evaluation and treatment
