a year ago i had pneumonia + sinus issues with heavy dizziness. after recovery my ears are sticky, i have tinnitus in one ear and struggle with sinus inflammation. i'm on strict diet. my ent gave me corticoid sprays & hearing test so it should be ok?

: Monitor temp, consider immune and CF testing after discussion with your PCP. PCD is another diagnosis to consider if you have had multiple infections of the ears/sinus tract and lungs. There may also be secondary ciliary abnormalities predisposing you to infections. Discuss nasal saline rinses and a culture of sputum and nasal passages. Your ENT specialist may also consider antibiotics if needed.

pneumonia 7 weeks ago. have small inflammation lower lungs, pain in ribs. using spirometer seems to help. anything else i can do to help heal?

Pneumonia: First....finish the complete prescription of the antibiotic your on even if you feel much better.  The incentive spirometer is very very important.  It helps you open alveoli that may have been effected by the infection and filled with fluid.  Its a very good prognostic indicator of recovery.  We often do pulmonary percussive technique in the hospital with patients to help mobilize sections.

will inflammed lung be okay after one yr after pneumonia?

Pneumonia: This can be due to bronchiectasis, chronic abscess, and a variety of other factors depending upon the cause of the pneumonia, whether it was infective vs. Autoimmune vs drug-induced, etc.  Need more info to answer this question effectively.  Please rephrase and ask again.  Good luck.

Mild foods: Avoid fried, fatty, spicy foods, alcohol, smoking, caffeine, citrus fruits and juices including tomatoes or tomato based foods... Don't eat late dinners or heavy meals. Rest of whatever is left should be fine :-))

No problem: It's unlikely that your cough durIng endoscopy would cause the problems you mentioned. If such did happen, your specialist would have addressed it &amp; informed you. Hope that helps.

No: However, if your pneumonia progreses to a "blood infection" (sepsis), it can infect the fetus.

Remaining active: is not the same as exercise. Staying active means no prolonged sitting or bed rest.

Yes: Like any infection it can be contagious during incubation period.

Depends on biopsy: The significance of a "patch of inflammation" will depend almost entirely on the findings of a biopsy of the affected area.  There are serious bowel diseases such as crohn's disease, that cause scattered patches of inflammation.

doctor took biopsy on multiple sites during colonoscopy due to inflammation.  said it may be due to prep.  is she being kind to stop me worrying?

Accepted Answer

It is possible: Some types of bowel preps can certainly cause some nonspecific irritation of the colon lining. The biopsies would be appropriate to confirm this.
