Rarely: Pheochormocytoma, a tumor of adrenal gland, can cause the symptoms you described. It would be prudent to discuss that with your doctor.

Hold off: On exercise until you have been evaluated. In general exercise is beneficial in those with hypertension. Blood pressure rises normally with exercise and depending on the level of your blood pressure and the extent of your exercise it could be harmful. See your doctor asap.

?: How high is high? A higher blood pressure is normal when you are active. I wouldn't be too concerned about developing an aneurysm at your age. Aneurysms take a very long time to develop after years of untreated hypertension. You are on metropolol which is very useful.  If you still are hypertensive on metoprolol then perhaps a dosage adjustment or additional medication is needed.

Headache came first?: Mildly elevated BP is not typically associated with headaches.  It is a "silent killer."  it may be that you have headaches and therefore a slight rise in bp.

Over 50 yrs.: in 23 yr old aneurysm is not the danger but Brain hemorrhage is if BP is persistently high. Also it is not high BP as dangerous as is the high swings as may happen with anxiety and exercise or isometric excesses like wt. lifting. So you should have maximum safe reserve in BP control of 30 mm. u may have aneurysm if u have Marfans Syndrome, coarctation of Aorta or other elastic tissue disease.

SOMETIMES: Undiagnosed hypertension may make you feel lightheaded, ocassionally make your pulse fast, dizzy when changing positions, morning dull headaches, or no symptoms at all.
