is it weird if my two year old still doesn't have molars?

Accepted Answer

Not really...: Boys tends to take longer to erupt their molars than girls...we don't know why. Pediatric dentists deal with not only years but 'years and months.' If your child just turned two, then this is normal but if they are approaching three years old, I would have them evaluated by a dentist.

does teething cause reflux? my two-year-old son used to have it really bad and now he's getting his molars it seems to have resurfaced.

No: But if he used to have his hands in the mouth all the time while teething, he probably induced the physiologic gag reflex and regurgitation.

can a two-year-old who is getting molars cause of vomiting and appetite loss?

Accepted Answer

Maybe unrelated: Toddlers all get teeth. Toddlers all get illnesses like the stomach flu. They can happen together by coincidence, meaning the teething may not be causing the ill symptoms. So, if the ill symptoms are worrisome, a doctor can evaluate to see if there is a strep throat, an ear infection, a stomach virus, or something else.

my two year old is getting in his six year old molars and he already has his full set of 20 toddler teeth. should i be worried?

Possibly.: The 6 year molars, also known as the first adult molars, typically come in at ages 6 or 7 years old. If they are coming in at age 2, this is far out of the normal range. The very first thing i would recommend would be an appointment with a children's specialist called a pedodontist to verify that indeed, what you see are the first molars.

could only sign of a brain injury in a 2 year old be crankiness? hit his head on cement 3 days ago. small bump on forehead gone. no other symptoms & he's getting molars. didn't lose consciousness or cry. perrla.

Yes: All 20 baby teeth will eventually fall out.  The molars may fall out last, around age 10 or so.

is it normal for a 2 year old to have a body temp in the 99s in the evenings? she is well and is healthy, but seems like thats her baseline temp during the evening. she does have molars coming in right now. temp never breaks 100 taken by ear?

Temperature: Although the literature says no physiologic reason for this, low grade temperatures have been recorded with teething episodes. The concern, however, is fever as a normal response to infection. If your child is 2, she should have been under the care of a Dentist since her 1st b'day. Please have her examined by that Dentist. If she doesn't have a Dentist, please see a specialist Pedodontist now.

my 2 year old has a rash under his mouth which could be hfm or teething (cutting in molars) doesnt have sores anywhere else and no fever. is it safe to bring him to a wedding my older child is supposed to be in on friday? hes not in daycare?

: The rash could be caused by drooling or contact with an irritant. Send a photo to your Pediatrician. HFM may present with few symptoms, but usually involves multiple areas.Monitor temperature and breathing.

Fever: It is hard to tell without physical exam, particularly if has no other signs &amp; symptoms,    if the fever persisted she need to checked by her  pediatrician.  Good luck

It varies: Autism is an incredibly complex problem that manifests itself in many ways.  If you are looking for a simple answer like you would get for a simpler disease (eg: chicken pox causes fever and rash), then you will be frustrated.   There are books on this subject....Big ones.   If you are concerned that your child is autistic, you need to see your pediatrician or a  pediatric neurologist.
