10 days into diflucan (fluconazole) 100mg po for esoph. thrush and cheeks look just slightly puffy. no other symptoms. afraid to stop meds as throat feels better!

Finish your meds: There is a reason we give meds for a prescribed course of treatment--it works better that way.  Your throat may feel better, but that doesn't mean it is completely treated.  Finish the course and see your doctor about the cheek puffiness.

Callous or plaque: Most plaque buildup on your tongue turns white.  If you have a lot of irritation on the tongue due to dental plaque you can build a callous.  This will appear white even after brushing your tongue.   Most tongues that are not brushed regularly look white.  Scraping your tongue with a tongue brush or a toothbrush will help alleviate this problem.  Try to pull forward the plaque not back and forth.

i woke up sunday with the roof of my mouth itchy & red. someone said thrush but i don't have any of those symptoms? now my throat hurts, other ideas?

Acute viral URI: But this could be strep and it would be helpful to be seen  and have a rapid strep test done, cultured or treated if the clinical appearance is likely to be strep by your doctor's assessment.

how conclusive is a 4 generation duo combo lab test at 4 months and 7 days after exposure? had a lot of symptoms and still having symptoms. sore throat for 3 months and white tongue/oral thrush for 1 month. uti and neck and shoulder pain, weight loss?

You don't have HIV: The HIV AgAB (4th generation) blood tests are 100% conclusive 6 weeks or more after the last possible exposure -- no exceptions. And you can't have HIV symptoms with a negative AgAb test; the results prove you don't have HIV and something else is causing all symptoms. White tongue isn't the same as oral thrush -- but even if you have that, your problems for sure are not due to HIV.

Doctor can evaluate: Cold sores are on or near the lips. They are caused by recurrences of herpes virus, which lives in the nerves after an initial infection, and then travel down the nerves to cause the cold sores at the skin surface from time to time. Sores on the inside of the mouth can be canker sores, due to the immune system reacting to something on the inside of the mouth; or can be viral ulcers, etc...

Candidiasis of UGI: A previous question best sums up your answer: "i am having trouble eating & drinking--my throat & stomach burn even my tongue."  ask your doctor to consider oral & esophageal thrush if you are medically compromised, using inhaled steroids, & have noticed the development of a cheesy coating in your mouth & throat. Treatment is simple but if question regarding esophageal involvement, endoscopy helps.
