Many possibilities : No simple answer, many disease can affect spinal cord, some prefer cervical some prefer lumber spine. 
It depends on your past medical history, other symptoms, family history, maybe even travel 
You need to ask your MD to refer you to neurologist or neurosurgery depends on above.

Multiple: Typically MS in the spinal cord presents in non-anatomic symptoms.  Weakness or tingling at one or more nerve levels on the right side and different levels or symptoms on the left.  A disc will cause symptoms on one side in a predictable distribution.  MRI with gadolinium offten suggests or demonstrates MS.

Does happen: Far less common presentation, but several patients may have initial lesions in spinal cord.  However, here's the main challenge: a condition called neuro-myelitis optica might present this way also, and the drugs for ms would make things worse, so get an aquaporin 4 study to make things more precise.

See below: If you have optic neuritis and suspicious lesions in the brain, you have a very high chance of having multiple sclerosis.  The absence of lesions in spinal cord is not exclusionary.  Although other disorders may cause your issues, would get diagnosis confirmed, and start a potent MS agent ASAP, if that seems to be answer.

MS lesions...: ...Can be anywhere in the nervous system, and do not have to show up as changes in the cerebrospinal fluid. The clinical course (stepwise deterioration with slow recovery between episodes) is t he hallmark of ms.

Important to get a: neurology referral, and a second opinion from an integrative medicine doctor. Also make sure to have your basic labs drawn, to see if your vitamin D3 levels and other micro nutrients are adequate. Varies: If you have acute inflammation causing spinal cord symptoms, this represents a relapse, which can be controlled and reversed by steroids, ACTH, or plasmapheresis.  If this is old and chronic, currently, we lack good therapeutic success, but stem cells are potentially an answer, and some therapies to restore myelin are on horizon.  Best approach remains prevention: Tysabri, (natalizumab) Gilenya, or Lemtrada

Hard call: You have my sympathy. It is often difficult to tell ms / devic's from a tumor just on scan. A neurosurgeon knows how to biopsy and when not to. Get to a subspecialty center, and good luck.

Spinal cord lesions: The differential diagnosis of ms like lesions in the cord include: spinal cord neoplasms (eg, astrocytomas, ependymomas), sarcoidosis, transverse myelitis, 
infarction of the spinal cord, 
vasculitis and 
radiation myelitis and subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord (vitamin B12 deficiency) among other causes. This one finding needs to be correlated with your clinical symptoms and labs.

what causes tingling / burning / vibration in the feet during warm shower? i have borderline to low t4, hashimoto and insulin resistance. thanks 
scared of ms, only did a spinal cord cut, back all fine.

Neuropathy: It could be an early peripheral neuropathy but I would expect more persistent symptoms in your feet with that. Nevertheless I recommend getting checked for Vitamin B12 deficiency and diabetes. A neurologist is best to consult if symptoms persist or worsen. Appropriate testing would be done and could include an EMG.
