•coughing

•rapid breathing (tachypnea).

Generally not: Pleurisy is an inflammation of the lining of the lungs, and many details of this are in prior answers.  'heartburn' is a layman's term of a sensation anywhere from the upper abdomen to the throat of a 'burning' or heat or acid taste.  It is generally caused by acid or stomach contents returning into the esophagus, and the pain caused by it is not related to breathing, as is pleurisy.

No, and yes.: No, because true pleurisy is an inflammation of the two linings surrounding the lungs (see prior) and sports should't cause this unless, perhaps, there is blunt trauma to the chest wall. However, the symptoms of pleurisy, pain on breathing, could be caused by trauma or contusion of the chest wall or lung. Interestingly, a gas bubble caught under the diaphragm may cause pleuritic symptoms.

Maybe: Pleurisy usually causes chest pain. Lung cancer may be asymptomatic and just noted on cxr/ct imaging. Or lung cancer may be associated with pain, shortness of breath, hemoptysis (coughing up blood), etc.  Many disease symptoms overlap.

First diagnose: Pleurisy may be due to a viral infection, in which case the otc preparation you mentioned is fine.  On the other hand if you actually have something more severe it may require a doctor's expertise to diagnose and treat appropriately.  Need more info.

Pleurisy: The temporal relationship may suggest these things are related but that does not mean they are...So yes this could be normal in your case but keep a watchful eye out for other symptoms just in case!

sle patient. diangosis with pleurisy and pericarditis. very high crp and sed rate but is now normal.  if inflammation is norm why am i still having symptoms?

Recovery time: The CRP and ESR are just general markers for inflammation and may not reflect local inflammation.  In addition, even if the inflammation has stopped, the damaged tissue needs time to heal.
