Pain swelling: A pelvic vein obstruction or thrombosis can cause unexplained pelvic and leg pain or swelling, leg ulcers which are difficult to heal.Leg pain or swelling often becomes worse with exercise because of the increased flow of blood into the legs with exercise that has to return and is blocked.  The pelvic pain may be intermittent or constant, .Sometimes pain with intercourse. If symptnms, see doctor.

Anatomy: Veins drain blood from periphery to the heart. Veins in the leg go up to the pelvis and then to the heart. If a clot forms in the vein in the leg, it can grow and reach the pelvis. More seriously, it can break and embolize the lung, resulting in cough, bloody sputum, pain and some times sudden death. Consult this site for more info.

DVT: Blood is a red liquid normally held within arte4ries and veins. It has to be able to clot normally to prevent leakage through small damages. If it clots more than normally, the clots can clog veins and arteries causing serious problems from damage to organs. Deep veins lead to the lung arteries and clots can travel to the lungs causing a serious and many times fatal pulmonary embolism.

Yes: Blood clot in pelvis is unusual and usually because of obstruction/coagulopathy related to a .........malignant process. Not knowing your age and associated medical condition.....it is difficult to say further.

: "Spotting" in place of a delay in usual menstruation can indicate pregnancy outside of the uterus (ectopic).  Obtain a serum HCG test, which is more sensitive to low levels of pregnancy hormone. If positive, see your GYN physician for an exam.
