A member asked:

Way same people have blood clot extend from leg to pelvis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anatomy: Veins drain blood from periphery to the heart. Veins in the leg go up to the pelvis and then to the heart. If a clot forms in the vein in the leg, it can grow and reach the pelvis. More seriously, it can break and embolize the lung, resulting in cough, bloody sputum, pain and some times sudden death.
